West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board

Serving Danville and Martinsville and the counties of Henry, Patrick and Pittsylvania, the West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board (WPWIB), in partnership with the region’s local elected officials, provides leadership and direction to determine how best to deliver workforce services for the region.

The WPWIB also designates One Stop Operators, formally called “Virginia Workforce Centers,” to deliver these defined workforce services. There are five centers in the region.

Members of the WPWIB are appointed by the Chief Elected Official of their respective city/county in accordance with criteria established by the Governor. WPWIB membership includes representatives from business and industry, education agencies, community-based organizations, economic development agencies, public employment services, public assistance agencies, vocational rehabilitation, and labor organizations.
